We are a small privately
run stud based just outside of Milton Keynes. We moved
here three years ago from near Ley Hill. Chesham - hence
the prefix!
Currently home to resident
stallion Lochlands Principal Flute, rising 5 and standing
at Stud for 2009, runs with his mares and also available
AI.
I have been involved with
ponies nearly all my life - I spent my teenage years
working for a very reputable dealer Jill Nash from Chorleywood
and she really taught me everything I know today. She
has an incredible eye for a pony and it is only now
I look back and realise what good good ponies we had.
Had plenty of opportunity to compete and it was a very
successful light weight cob "Albert Hall"
that got me interested in Showing.
My love of the Highland
began some twenty years ago when I used to ride a very
naughty but nice one for a friend - I forgot his name
!!. My first purchase, however, was Birchcroft Freddie
who is still going strong with Kay Cherry. Once bitten
the tribe grew bigger and at one time I had in order
thirteen - I am now down to a sensible level of seven
or eight, quite enough for one person!
Very much enjoy showing
my ponies in hand and under saddle, however it is the
breeding side that will always take my preference.
I currently sit on the
Highland Pony Society council and was appointed onto
the Highland Pony Society In Hand judges panel in 2004.
I also sit on the BSPS Heritage, PUK and NPS Panels
- I think there is no going back now !!
Hope you enjoy this site
and visitors are always welcome by appointment.
"People keep asking
my why I don't show ride - well I have done that bit
and below is the evidence!!"
